Our Story

Our journey began in 2018, when I quit the corporate world and decided to jump into the exciting and rewarding career of caring for dogs fulltime! I know we wanted to stay local, and build upon the relationships we had started growing since moving to Aurora in 2016. So, when the opportunity came to buy an existing small dog daycare in the heart of downtown Aurora, we knew this was our chance to turn it into something great… and The Social Pup was born! For the past 5 years, we have put our hearts and souls into creating a safe place that enriches the lives of the dogs we care for, while putting the owners’ minds at ease. We are a family and are grateful to be an extension of yours when caring for your doggo!

Proud Aurora resident, with deep ties to this community in which we live, work and give back.

I didn’t grow up thinking I would be a small business owner. In fact, I wanted to be the first grandchild to go to post-secondary and make my parents & grandparents proud. So that’s what I did. Then I got a job, climbed the corporate ladder and before I was 40, I was burnt out. I was faced with a decision: continue at this unsustainable pace, forgoing any meaningful relationships and my health, or take a leap of faith and pour myself into my passion (Dogs!) and use my education/experience to open the BEST dog daycare in Aurora?! The choice wasn’t simple, but it was clear and The Social Pup was born. Every day, I wake up and put my best foot forward, giving it my all. Leading my team through example, compassion and dedication to enriching the lives of dogs and hopefully adding a little joy to their parents through our conversations. Now as we look at expanding our business, I look forward to what the future brings. The possibilities are endless!
